Clients are responsible for coordinating a cake. Hint of Whimsy can make recommendations on cake style and vendors upon request. Cake stands are available on-site to match most themes. Avoid brown or black frosting! Opt for whipped or buttercream frosting rather than fondant so it is smashable!

While we don’t keep many cake smash decorations on hand, we’ve been known to be creative, frugal and resourceful in helping our clients coordinate the perfect set up (like featured in the images to the left!) If you’re unsure where to start, let us know! We’re happy to visit with you about themes matching your little one’s interests, share with you a list of trendy ideas or pitch ideas we’ve been dying to try! One week’s notice is appreciated if our assistance is needed to pull together a theme.

We tend to book up two months in advance. If you’re hoping for a finished gallery by the time your little one’s birthday, we recommend the session take place 3-4 weeks prior.
